A heat pump and electric blankets ensure a warm and cosy stay during the cooler months. The Nest is located in beautiful Acacia Bay, a peaceful lakeside community on the western shores of Lake Taupō. Guests can enjoy a relaxed holiday atmosphere while still being only a short drive from Taupō town. The local swimming area and beach are within walking distance, and the boat ramp is less than 2 km away. A local store and the popular Bay Bar & Restaurant are approximately 1.2 km from The Nest, perfect for a casual meal or a drink while enjoying the lake views. Acacia Bay is known for its stunning homes, peaceful surroundings, and beautiful lakefront walks. With several beach areas nearby, it is an ideal spot for swimming, relaxing, fishing, kayaking, or simply enjoying the scenery. Taupō town is only a 6 km drive away, offering excellent restaurants, cafes, shops, and attractions. The area is also a fantastic base for exploring the central North Island, with Rotorua, Napier and Hawke’s Bay all within easy reach. Popular attractions nearby include Craters of the Moon thermal walk, mountain biking trails, golf courses, hot pools and spas, Huka Falls, and many other outdoor adventures. The Tongariro Alpine Crossing and ski fields are approximately a 1.5-hour drive away, while Hobbiton and the Waitomo Glowworm Caves can be reached in under two hours. Of course, many guests simply choose to slow down, relax, and enjoy the beauty of Lake Taupō right on the doorstep.
