It was a bit out of the way, so lovely and quiet. The owners live upstairs and came out to introduce themselves and welcome us. The place is actually huge, and had a lovely homey feeling. Very clean with lots of towels and warm bedding. Big TV with streaming, and a full kitchen, and massive bathroom with washer available. All the comforts of home, and just up the road from the Thermal Pools which are awesome.

This property is new construction with specific detail to meet the needs of travelers. The room was well-appointed and very nicely decorated. The kitchen is well-equipped and the bed very comfortable. Lots of storage and hooks to hang things - often overlooked at other rentals. Parking was located directly outside of the room and the complimentary laundry facilities were very much appreciated. There is a communal kitchen (in addition to the facilities right inside the room) and an outdoor entertaining area with lights, seating and a fireplace. There are excellent walking trails immediately behind the property, which was perfect for our stay. You will want to stay here!

The place was beautiful with an extraordinary view with horses, farms and the lake. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. We literally felt like family. It has changed so much since my holiday years here i50 years...

It has changed so much since my holiday years here i50 years ago. We were here for a 70th birthday, a great catch up with all the whānau i stayed with during the 8 years I came here during Xmas holidays. It is still a beautiful town, seeing men and boys fishing in the magnificence of Tongariro awa bought back so many memories of all the whānau that have passed on. The eateries catered for every preference, highly recommended Turangi as a destination.

Turangi is a hidden gem, if you haven't stayed there before...

Turangi is a hidden gem, if you haven't stayed there before and explored the natural beauty you are missing out. Hong Kong Chinese Takeaways always provides the best Fish and Chips. Tokaanu Hot Pools are also a must.

We enjoy staying here and the Restaurant supplies a good evening meal. The signal for the Wifi was very poor and this meant no TV for the evening as they use Smart TV's and without signal they just didn't work. :-(

Turangi is a nice small town but it locates in the heart of...

Turangi is a nice small town but it locates in the heart of NZ popular national park, Tongariro. There are so many wonderful nature around Turangi and its really worth to base in this wonderful lovely town if you want to sightsee or do lots of activities around Tongariro National Park.

I've always liked Turangi.

I've always liked Turangi. It has a lot to offer both in the town itself as well as the greater region. The shopping center is well laid out and provides everything you need including ample parking. There are takeaway and dining options to please most people. The New Word supermarket is well stocked and the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Accommodation options cover every budget. Nearby Tokannu has great hot pools and a picturesque wharf. Omori is a lovely quiet lakeside village only a 15 minute drive from Turangi. Check out the rabbits on the lakeside grass reserves from late afternoon. The lost lagoon at nearby Kuratau Junction is well worth a visit with crystal clear water. Nature and scenery abound in and around Turangi. Well worth stopping rather than just passing through.

Awesome place. Great experience right from the beginning. I got a welcome text from the motel soon as I booked, which was last minute. I decided to call them to say we will be arriving late at night. The sweet lady said, “after this call, I’ll go and turn the heater on and leave a light on for you. The place is very comfortable, close to shops, has 2 storeys with 2 single beds upstairs and a queen downstairs. Very clean and tidy with heated tiles in the bathroom. We will be booking this place every time we visit Turangi.

We stayed here for one night after hiking in the National Park, it was more closely located than going to Taupo and had hot pools available. These were amazing after a 17km hike! Bed was comfortable, the units were spacious, and check-in easy. Motel had everything we needed. It was a short drive to town to grab groceries or a meal out. We would stay here again.

Don and Beth prepared a very comfortable stay for our 5 nights in Turangi. A warm house with everything you need with kids, close to the supermarket. A great base to visit the snow at Whakapapa, but not too far away either from Taupo town. Our kids enjoyed seeing the chooks and we were blessed with fresh eggs.
