Located alongside the lovely Lake Taupo, Braxmere Lodge offers accommodations with a patio and lake views. Braxmere Lodge Tokaanu is a 10-minute drive from Trout Hatchery and Turangi. Mt Ruapehu-Whakapapa Ski Field is 35 minutes’ drive away. Each air-conditioned unit has a kitchenette with a microwave and stovetop. The seating area has a flat-screen TV. The private bathroom includes a hairdryer and free toiletries. Guests receive free Wi-Fi, but need to be aware that due to our rural location, the internet & phone service can be patchy. Our jetty was badly damaged in cyclone Gabrielle, however, the boat ramp is still able to be used to launch your boats and the Lake is great for swimming and other water sports. There is a shared laundry room, with washing machine and dryer in a cabin between Units 6 & 7 1. There is a shared BBQ for guest use on the restaurant side of Unit 1 2. Please note that the accommodations is motel units NOT villas or luxury apartments

Braxmere is elegant and relaxing, every unit overlooks the lake and has 1 bedroom with a king size bed. The living area has a double sofa bed. Located at the southern end of Lake Taupo, Braxmere is beautifully architected bringing you a "home away from home" feeling. Surround by water, nature, and a great atmosphere, what more could you ask for? Come down and experience for yourself just how amazing Braxmere is.

Neighborhood info

Tokaanu Thermal Pools is only a 2 minute drive from Braxmere. With a small entry fee, you can enjoy the natural private pools, or the public pool. If you are into challenging walks, the Tongariro Crossing is a must do while you are in the area. The crossing traverses the length of Mt Tongariro (18.5km) and can take 5-8 hours depending on your fitness level. You will experience a challenging but breathtaking adventure and it will definitely make your visit one to remember. Braxmere is a good base for fishing, watersports or heading up to Mt Ruapehu for some skiing/snowboarding. We have our own boat ramp for you to launch your boat into the lake, and also a jetty for easy access to the boat (the jetty is currently closed due to significant damage caused by Cyclone Gabrielle). There are a few fishing guides in the area who will take you out on their boat, and teach you the ways of Trout Fishing here at Lake Taupo. Experience the Tongariro river, with the local raft company. Feel free to ask for more information.
