We own part of the largest wetland in the Marlborough / Nelson area and have opened it up to our guests. We are right at the end of the road with no traffic noise at all. There are miles of West Coast beaches to explore within just a few minutes drive. There are lots of walkways through the wetland and up into the native bush. The bird life is really amazing and the native flowers that you come across along the tracks always surprise. If you really want to get right away from it all. You couldn't do better.
We are both passionate about the environment and really enjoy helping our guests get the most out of the area. As well as the chalets we have a number of beehives and produce manuka honey as part of our income. It has been really lovely helping the area regenerate and watch the bird life increase as a consequence.
We have a really neat glow worm grotto I really enjoy taking our guests through. Each glow worm puts out a little light and standing in the grotto makes you feel like you are being watched. The koura (our little fresh water crayfish are really lovely to watch. It has to be dark to be at its best and is really worth the effort.
