Wake to the roosters crow, as you glimpse the sun rising upon Mt Egmont through fields of grazing animals direct from our Rustic Country Style Lodge set in park like grounds alive with bird life. Breathe the fresh country air on our 350 acre sheep and cattle farm we call home. Ride horses and trek through vast fields of farmland. Dog will keep you company. Feed calves, sheep, chickens and friendly pigs. Majestic peacocks spread their tails amongst the farmsteads extensive native forests. Wander down through our country fields to the lake, for a refreshing swim . Discover native trees alive with Tui, Woodpigeon and Kiwis. Dare an exhilarating scenic flight over Mt Egmont from our own farm airstrip. Try a hunting expedition or trek through our native forests. Visit the award winning Tawhiti Museum, Lake Rotorangi or Dawson Falls on Mt Taranaki all within an easy drive. Or simply spread out relax and enjoy the perfect solitude and calm of the farm. The true atmosphere of which is best experienced on the evening deck, looking out across the farmland, watching the sun set behind Mt Egmont, as the day's activities are recounted and the stories get taller as night approaches
The Ogles have lived in Ararata since the 1890's . We are fifth generation farmers. Farming in excess of now 2000 acres over five different farms in the area. We farm sheep, cattle and intensive cropping as well as managed forestry. With a strong priority of always giving back to the land and have created a net work of many wetland features and extensive exotic as well as native plantings. We look at our farms as an intergenerational projects.
Visit the award winning Tawhiti Museum, Lake Rotorangi , Lake Rotokare, Dawson Falls on Mt Taranakiall or our famous black sand and rugged west coast beaches all within an easy drive.
