Balay Hilway is a cozy rustic cabin in the countryside, something that came about during a community project and outreach for children called "Project Hilway" amid the pandemic. It was intended to be a humble abode and refuge for the project’s volunteers. Soon after the end of the project, Balay Hilway continued to serve a good purpose - to be a regenerative space open to folks who want to experience the joy and freedom that come with slow and simple living. This continues to be an extension of our outreach and community project. To manage expectations, Balay Hilway is not a resort or a recreational center with fancy amenities. The goal is to immerse you in the so-called “pangabuhi sa uma” and feel at home close to nature. We experienced the joy of slow living and freedom from the usual pressure of city life, and we thought we could share this gem of a space with others.

Balay Hilway is situated in an ordinary and typical countryside/village. Barangay Arante is 5-10 minutes aways from the main town of Sara. It is a farming community, mostly with rice and corn. There are small shops and sari-sari stores nearby.
