We invite everyone seeking peace and relaxation to the village of Łebki. It is a tiny, sleepy village nestled deep within the ‘Lasy nad Górną Liswartą’ Landscape Park, 18 km east of Lubliniec. A real backwater – the nearest grocery shop is 6 km away, and some people even manage to get lost. The air here is clean, the ground soft, and the neighbours friendly. You can really go for a proper run, a bike ride, a stroll, or just potter about. In season, you can pick mushrooms, berries and blueberries. A year-round yurt, insulated and heated, with a sun terrace. Plenty of space all around, a starry sky overhead. For those who love to get away from civilisation, where the Turza river murmurs just outside the door, a candle flame flickers, and a bonfire burns. Our yurt is of the Mongolian type, in which the wooden structure consists of a central roof ring, supported by two carved poles, rafters and a wall truss. A crank-operated skylight is built into the ring, known as the tono. For sleeping, we have one double bed and two single beds. A reliable cast-iron stove keeps the interior warm. Food can be prepared on a camping stove using gas cartridges, over the campfire, or on the cast-iron stove. Next to the kitchen cupboard is a sink supplied with water from a jerrycan. Food can be stored in a camping fridge with replaceable cooling packs. Lighting is provided by paraffin and camping lamps, but you are welcome to bring additional equipment if you wish. Wood for the stove and the campfire is provided on site, under a shelter, but it’s worth bringing back some brushwood when you return from a walk in the woods. Next to the yurt stands a wooden cabin surrounded by a palisade, containing a dry toilet and washbasin. The water in the shower comes from a tank on the roof. There is also a washbasin with water from a barrel. The nearest buildings are a few hundred metres away, and with them comes electricity and running water 😊.
We left the dusty city behind to wake to the sound of birdsong and fall asleep to the chirping of crickets. We live in the irreplaceable company of our parents and a host of animals: we have cats, dogs, goats and horses with us. Animals are our great love and we cannot imagine life without their close presence. They bring us peace, put a smile on our faces, and also give us a sense of fulfilment from our work. They are a source of great joy when they come into our lives, and of immense sadness when they leave. Several of our dogs came to us from shelters — each with their own story. We try to express our respect for all animals through a vegan and vegetarian diet, as well as our strong disapproval of hunting wild species. For this reason, but also for the safety of our family, we cannot accommodate guests arriving with firearms.
We were keen to give you the chance to experience nature up close and in all its splendour, which is why the yurt is situated on the edge of our plot, beside the tiny River Turza, just a few hundred metres from our house, where we also run the Morgi na Łebkach agritourism farm. All around, there is an abundance of various bird species such as cranes, storks, buzzards, owls, lapwings, larks, partridges and pheasants. Four-legged creatures dart about: roe deer, hares and foxes. From time to time, just beyond the boundary, our wonderful horses, Panna and Poluś, will also make an appearance. And almost on the edge of the village lie two nature reserves: Cisy in Łebki and Cisy on the Liswarta. A little further on, hidden in the forest, is a pond called Bagno w Jeziorze. Also worth noting is Count Ballestrem’s rhododendron garden, established in Pawełki 100 years ago. This plant blooms spectacularly at the turn of May and June. Near this garden lies the charming Brzoza pond, complete with a spot for resting and barbecuing. The beautiful and species-rich forests of the Landscape Park.
