Who are we? I met my wife Ewelina on the go, at a train station in Quetta, Pakistan. Since then, we’ve been traveling together. Before we found out that Poland is really beautiful, we visited many countries on several continents. After graduation, we decided to use our experience and create a place where one feels close to nature, enchanted by the magic of place and tradition … We created agrotourism guesthouse Villa Greta. Our first guests arrived in 2005. Since then, a lot has changed. Probably the most important change in our lives was the birth of our children, currently 7 and 4-year-old Tosia and Tymek. From that time on, we try to make our guesthouse a haven for families with children.

Why the name ‘Villa Greta’? The history of our guesthouse. At the end of XIX century Paul and Agnes Wittwer came into possession of Villa Greta. They had 12 children, among others a daughter named Margaret. After the Second World War, Lower Silesia became part of Poland and Greta fell in love with Janek Kowalski, a Polish soldier from the area of Lutsk. At a time when the whole Greta’s family was deported to Germany, Janek hid his would-be bride in the attic at his friends’ house in a neighboring village and went to Warsaw himself in order to arrange permission to marry a German woman. It worked. In the Wittwer family house Janek and Greta Kowalski lived happily ever after. They had 5 children and lots of grandchildren. One of them is me, Krzysiek Rozpędowski. ‘Villa Greta’, the name of our house is, therefore, a reminder of my Grandma Greta.
