A Toca is a cosy townhouse apartment set on the groundfloor of a traditional townhouse.we renovated this space entirely in 2025 with confort but maintaining character. The house has a double bedroom with its own bathroom with shower ,entrance hall, kitchen, an extra sleeping space with seperate bathroom, living and dining space with a large window opening onto a balcony.It is decorated with pieces of personal art, antique touches and modern furnishings.The kitchen is fully equiped galley space, floors in terracotta paving.The house is a minute walk away from the local square which offers a view on local life, cafes, restaurants and small local shops.
We live in Monchique since 2014, loving the nature and town. My husband Sylvain and myself moved here looking for a slower pace of true Portuguese life opening our sculpture garden Studio Bongard here in 2020. I am happy to share my knowledge of the area, walks places to visit and history with our visitors and hope that this will make it not just a holiday destination but an experience that will remain a wonderful memory.
The village is a step away from the house with local restaurants,coffee shops and local shopping.It is jn a street that leads you to visit local monuments, parks, markets and many events held throughout the year. It is easy to shop locally as there are fruit shop, butcher, food market within a short walking distance.
