Angels Homes is a set of three apartments in a preserved 1917 building, right in the heart of Penha de França — one of Lisbon's real, lived-in neighbourhoods. The building has stood since the First World War, and its facade is protected exactly as it was: the original tiles, the paintwork, the details all date back to 1917. Inside, each apartment has been carefully renovated to be comfortable and calm, while keeping the character of the original home. You'll feel at home here. Guests tell us the same thing again and again — that it's homely, quiet and welcoming, the kind of place you're happy to come back to at the end of the day. Each apartment has its own private entrance, an equipped kitchen, a balcony, soundproofing for a restful night, laundry, a walk-in shower, satellite TV, and fresh towels and linen. And you're central without the crowds: two metro stations are within an easy walk, the airport is a straightforward ride, and bars, restaurants and everyday shops are all around you. Families especially love staying somewhere with real history and space to relax.

Penha de França is one of Lisbon's seven hills, in the northeast of the city — safe, quiet, family-friendly, and wonderfully real. It's the kind of neighbourhood where daily life still moves at its own pace, yet you're only minutes from the centre by metro. A short walk from the door you'll find the Miradouro da Penha de França, a local viewpoint beside a centuries-old church with wide views over the city and almost none of the crowds. Even quieter is the Miradouro do Monte Agudo, one of Lisbon's best-kept-secret sunset spots. For a taste of everyday life, there's the Mercado de Sapadores farmers' market and a handful of family-run Portuguese restaurants nearby — ask me and I'll point you to my favourites. You're also well placed for the sights: Alfama and Graça are within easy reach, the historic Tram 28 runs through the area, and the riverside is a walk downhill. Two metro stations nearby take you into the centre in minutes, and out to the airport without changing lines.
