A anfitriã era incrível. Muito simpática e disponível. Deixou nós um bolo de boas vindas, pão, doces caseiros e ovos caseiros.

There are places where silence is not absence, but presence. Bravia is one of them. Here, far from the rush of daily life, the sounds of the village become company and nature dictates the pace. Everything invites you to slow down—to be and to discover. You can hear the birds from dawn to dusk, the bell marking the hours, the voices of neighbors going about their business. From the windows, you can see the mountains and the simple life of those who live off the land. The "namoradeiras" (traditional window seats) invite you to a leisurely coffee, a forgotten book, or a conversation that needed to happen. You wake up without an alarm. Breakfast can be enjoyed in the cozy interior or on the sunny terrace before exploring the trails and natural charms of Gerês. Upon returning, there's a fireplace on cold days, a table set to share stories and enjoy the local cuisine, time to dream, write, or fall into a deep sleep. To experience Bravia is to enter the village with respect, greet passersby, and feel before consuming. It's not just about staying — it's about participating, with kindness, in the rhythm of a place that existed long before us. This could be the village house you've always dreamed of, a refuge to nourish yourself, a temple to have ideas and to share remarkable times with your loved ones.
From childhood, I dreamed of leaving the city and living in a rural village, surrounded by nature, where life was still authentic. A place where you eat local food, sleep better, and where words still have value. Where there is a sense of community, vibrant culture, and traditions that unite people. With this house, conceived with much love, I realized that leap of faith: I abandoned the comfort zone of the capital to create my life project here in a village that welcomed me so well. My desire is to actively contribute to a more conscious, responsible, and purposeful tourism. For me, welcoming guests is a genuine joy. I like to open the door as if receiving someone at home: with time, attention, and eye contact. I create a carefully crafted experience, with small gestures of affection—homemade treats on the table, sharing favorite places and well-kept secrets, and suggestions adapted to what each person seeks: silence, discovery, adventure, or rest. I have an infinite curiosity about people and their stories. Perhaps that's why those who arrive are rarely just guests. He takes a piece of the village with him — and also leaves something of himself in the history of Bravia.
The house is located in Fafião, a mountain village in the parish of Cabril, municipality of Montalegre, in the heart of the Peneda-Gerês National Park. Known as the "Village of Wolves," life continues to unfold at the rhythm of the mountains. Neighbors greet passersby, flocks of sheep roam the streets with their shepherds, and a wealth of stories and ancient traditions are shared between young and old. To "immerse" yourself in the village, start at the Eco Museum. Then, among the most emblematic places are the Poço Verde (Green Well), a lagoon of crystal-clear water hidden in a deep valley, the Fojo dos Lobos (Wolf Trap), an old communal stone trap, and the viewpoints, with expansive views over the mountains and rivers. When hunger strikes, you have four restaurants with rich local cuisine and the Café Fojo dos Lobos, a meeting point where you can lose track of time chatting or enjoying a cocktail. Fafião is the ideal starting point to explore Gerês in an authentic way, away from the busy areas of the park. After a dip in Poço Verde or a hike through the mountains, nothing feels better than returning to the tranquility and ending the day at the cheerful pace of the village, renowned for its warm hospitality!
