This home has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including good matresses. The kitchen is well equipped. There is a small library and you are welcome to take a book/leave a book. We also have games and videos (you will need to link your portabale pc to the TV screen for this) and lots of CDs or a portable bluetooth loudspeaker to play your own music . Outdoors has a lawn, flowerbeds, pool, sunbathing chairs, BBQ and a fantastic view of the hills. Sunrise is particularly beautiful and can be seen from your bed! Bed linen and towels are provided at no extra cost. The property has several dogs that normally stay at the house they belong to, but Molly, a very sweet and friendly medium sized dog, may appear for a visit. The last part of the road to the house is a dirt road. It was recently smoothed out and is easy to drive on.
I am British and have been living in Portugal for over 40 years. I spend my time between Parede, on the Lisbon-Cascais coast and in Alentejo, also near the coast. I have a family and 3 dogs! I have lived in quite a few countries and speak fluent English, Portuguese and French. I was brought up in Africa and France. Alentejo is the closest I could find to Africa in Portugal. It is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. I live in this house when it is not rented, so you will find everything you need for a comfortable holiday. The house will be all yours, but the host will be nearby if you need any help. The house is on a 6,5 hectares property , with an endless view of the rolling hills , a garden with lawn, and a pool. The area also has lots of places to go walking too, in the hills and river Mira.
The house is located on the outskirts of a small rural village (2 minutes' drive), but far away enough to have the feeling of being immersed in nature.. Shopping is a 5 min drive to small local supermarket in São Luis and 10 mins to Intermarche/Lidl in Odemira. Good restaurants within 10 minutes. Beautiful beaches within 20-30 mins drive. Nature walks from the house as we are surrounded by nature. No pollution, no noise, except birds, frogs, animals and cicadas and brilliant stars and shooting stars at night!
