Hidden away among the ancient streets of Tavira, the Calçada Guest house combines a rustic exterior with a modern interior. It offers bright rooms, each with a private bathroom, and some come with views of the Asseca River. The individually decorated rooms at the Calçada feature a seating area and modern bathrooms, all with a shower and hairdryer. Calçada is the Portuguese traditional decorative pavement made with cobble stones found throughout Portugal. The Guesthouse, established in 2012, is a beautiful accommodation located amongst the oldest streets in Tavira, Eastern Algarve. The house is hidden in a small residential square behind the main Square within the heart of the historical centre of Tavira, one of the most architecturally attractive towns in the Algarve. The B&B comprises six individually decorated bedrooms all with en-suite shower rooms. Located in the historic centre of Tavira means we are close to all facilities including cafes and restaurants. The Guesthouse has comfortable seating areas both inside and on the roof terrace so you can relax without even having to leave us. At Calcada Guesthouse and we aim to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We are available if you would like to ask us any questions about the local area or would like to ask us for any recommendations. We are happy to recommend and make reservations at restaurants or arrange day trips for you.

Ola, we welcome you to Calcada Guesthouse, Tavira. We moved to Portugal in 2008 to enjoy the sun and outdoor lifestyle. Since then our family has extended with 2 children and a dog. Our idea has remained the same since then, to create an accommodation which has modern comforts in a relaxed and informal environment. We love the area and are very happy to help with our personal recommendations for places to visit, restaurants and excursions. Tavira is a lovely, attractive town to walk around. There are many places to stop for a coffee, drink or a meal. We are located in the heart of the historic centre of Tavira so as soon as you step out the door you are immersed in the history of the town. The smell of grilled chicken or fish is a sign that it is lunch time as is the fire brigade siren that sounds at 1pm to tell people to stop working and to go and eat some lunch. Photo opportunities lurk around each corner and it is possible to pop into the many historical buildings and churches to view the architecture. A car is not necessary and we are happy to arrange airport transfers and local taxis should you require them.
