Casa Codorniz is an old family home and its name appears as a reference to its previous owner (Luís Codorniz). At the hands of her daughter it has been completely restored and adapted for Local Accommodation. It has 3 bedrooms with double beds, 2 bathrooms with shower and a large kitchen and living room, it is not possible to find 2 extra beds. Agualva is one of the main parishes on the island of Terceira, its name derived from the clearing and the purity of its waters (Agua Alva). Here is one of the highest mountain ranges on the island, with an altitude of 808 meters at its highest point, Pico Alto. Two hundred years ago this parish was little more than a large orchard, where some houses emerged. Over the centuries these cultures have been changing and nowadays the fields are practically occupied only by extensive pastures where dairy cows and the famous Ramo Grande Cattle appear. Due to the large volume of water from its springs, there were 48 mills along the main stream that milled the flour for much of the island of Terceira. The Parish Church of this parish is dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Assunção, traditionally known to the people as Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, and is celebrated on August 15th of each year. On the 18th or 19th of August of each year, you can watch a traditional Bullfighting on a Rope directly from the accommodation. Just 5km away you will find the Terceira Island Golf Course and 4km the Baías da Agualva walking trail - PR2TER.
