Property info

Casa da Avó Genoveva dates back to the 17th Century. It is named after Genoveva Antunes Duarte, great-grandmother of the current owner, who made this house into a lively meeting point of generations of friends and family. Casa da Avó Genoveva has extensive gardens, with many trees and flowers, where guests can walk or ride a bike (the house has bicycles at your disposal). To one side of the garden, alongside an old tennis court, is the pool (perfect for cooling off in the summer). There is a barbecue and a equipped kitchen that can be also rented to guests. Please ask the owners about this possibility. A private parking area is available and free to guests. Inside the house, decorated with antique family furniture, guests can enjoy two living rooms, a library and a games room with snooker table. There is free Wi-Fi. Casa da Avó Genoveva also welcomes pets.

Neighborhood info

Casa da Avó Genoveva is located in the countryside, in the center of the Portugal. The closest city is Tomar (8 km), the historical seat of the Templars in the country, with its beautiful UNESCO site Convent amongst many other atractions. Other historical cities less than half an hour driving are Abrantes, Torres Novas, Golegã (very famous for its horse fair in November), Barquinha, Constância... and many more. The monumental cities of Batalha, Alcobaça and Óbidos are all reachable in one hour by car. If you want to go the beach, Nazaré, São Martinho do Porto, São Pedro de Moel are also one hour away. Fátima and its Basilic are 40 km away and Lisbon, the capital city is also reachable in 1.30 hour driving. If you prefer to travel by train, Entroncamento, the city of the trains, where you can take a train to almost everywhere in Portugal, is 14 km away. For those who like to walk in the nature, Serra d'Aire and Serra dos Candeeiros are also 40 km away. If you just want to relax and rest, our quite house and gardens are also the perfect place for some days of pure tranquility.
