Casa da Azenha is a beautifully restored independent house just 50 meters from Paradinha’s river beach. Set between the mountains and the Paiva River, it offers three comfortable suites, a cosy living area, a fully equipped kitchenette and a private outdoor space perfect for relaxing after a swim or a walk. What makes this house unique is its atmosphere: a quiet refuge shaped by nature, light and the rhythm of the river. Each suite has its own character, and the house combines simplicity with thoughtful details to create a warm and welcoming stay. As the host, I welcome guests with care and authenticity. I live between Porto and the mountains, and I’m always available to help before and during the stay, while respecting each guest’s privacy. I’m Olga Noronha, a multidisciplinary artist and reseracher and the host of Casas da Paradinha. I divide my time between Porto, the mountains, and anywhere else in the world, where I find balance in creation, nature and hospitality. What I enjoy most about welcoming guests is creating a calm, genuine atmosphere where people can slow down, breathe and feel at home. Each house carries the personal touch of my family: many decorative and utilitarian pieces were designed and handcrafted by us, giving every space its own character and a sense of authenticity. I love preparing the houses with these details so guests can truly feel the spirit of Paradinha. I value simplicity, care and respect for privacy. I’m always available to help before and during the stay, ensuring comfort while allowing guests to enjoy the landscape — walking, resting, swimming in the river or simply listening to the silence. The property is only 6 km from the Paiva Walkways, an award‑winning wooden trail that follows the river through dramatic cliffs and natural landscapes. Nearby, you’ll also find the 516 Arouca Suspension Bridge, one of the longest pedestrian suspension bridges in the world, offering breathtaking views over the gorge. Paradinha is also a wonderful place for meditation, yoga and digital detox. The quiet rhythm of the village, the sound of the river and the surrounding mountains create a natural environment for slowing down, disconnecting from technology and reconnecting with yourself. To fully enjoy the region, it’s advisable to have your own car, as the area is rural and surrounded by nature. The village of Alvarenga, located 9 km away, offers a superb selection of restaurants, as well as essential services such as a pharmacy, gas station and supermarkets. It’s a convenient stop for meals and supplies while exploring the Geopark.
