Casa da Capelinha is situated in a very quiet part of Ponta Delgada on Madeira Island. This 4-Star Aparthotel is a lovingly restored Madeiran manor house with a quaint 16th-century chapel. Each holiday apartment is fully equipped and offer spectacular ocean and mountain views. The property sits 200 meters from the Atlantic Ocean and is surrounded by Madeira’s Natural Park. Known as the "island of eternal spring," Madeira's subtropical climate makes it a great destination to visit all year round. Guests can spend the day exploring the island or experience tranquility at the property by taking a refreshing dip in the pool amidst the sights and sounds of the Atlantic. The onsite restaurant, Baixa’s Cafe, open most evenings for dinner, allows guests to taste homemade traditional poncha and authentic and tasty dishes. Each room has high speed WiFi so guests can work remotely or stream their favorite shows (optic fiber) and a new air conditioning system since March 2021.
Casa da Capelinha has been in the Canha family for over 200 years and run by couples Carlos and Maria da Paz, João and Isabel. Carlos and Maria love to restore traditional buildings of Madeira so people from around the world can enjoy them.
The village of Ponta Delgada is located on the North Coast of Madeira between Sao Vicente and Santana. Wtih ocean views to the north and forest views to the south, guests will be surrounded by scenic beauty. Madeira is a vibrant green island set in the Atlantic Ocean; 35 miles long and 13 miles at its widest point. This island is part of Portugal and only an 1 & 1/2 flight from Lisbon. The island has a year-round temperate climate with winter temperatures hovering around 20ºC. The beautiful landscapes, delicious food, locally grown wine and a history dating back to the 15th century have been attracting travellers for more than 100 years. Casa da Capelinha offers a fantastic base from which to explore the Laurisilva Forest, natural lava swimming pools, dramatic coastline and other attractions on the island. Traffic is very light and there are very few tourists around so you can experience the authentic Madeira.
