Casa da Pedrada was born from the dream of a family with roots in this village: a refuge for days of rest and togetherness over the years. In the early 1990s the house was extended and renovated to welcome the family's three generations — today it welcomes guests who want the Gerês at a slow pace. The house spreads across three floors. Downstairs, a living room with Smart TV and sofas. Middle floor, a sitting room with indoor fireplace and pellet stove, a second Smart TV, fully equipped kitchen (oven, hob, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, espresso and Italian coffee machines) and a bathroom. Upstairs, four bedrooms, each with a double bed and individual air conditioning, and a full bathroom with bathtub. Cot available. Outside, a vast walled garden safe for children, where centuries-old olive trees and fragrant orange trees form corners that invite rest and serenity — a singular, sumptuous hazel tree, decades old, marks the whole space. Paved terrace with mountain views and a charcoal stone barbecue. Public parking at the door, WiFi throughout the house. On request, arranged with recommended local partners: breakfast basket, picnic basket, wine tastings and wine tourism experiences. The GR50 trail starts at the door. About 20 minutes from the A3 motorway and Ponte do Lima, 30 minutes from Braga, 1 hour from Porto airport, 50 minutes from Vigo airport and 40 km from the Atlantic. Casa da Pedrada is in the historic town of Ponte da Barca, at Lugar da Pedrada in the village of Salvador (Touvedo), on the edge of Peneda-Gerês National Park — Portugal's only national park. Set in the heart of the Alto Minho, between the river Lima and the park, the region stands out for its stunning landscapes, granite villages, vineyards and trails leading to waterfalls and crystal-clear lagoons. Right at the door starts the GR50, a long-distance trail that crosses the entire Gerês. 5 minutes by car: the centre of Ponte da Barca, with restaurants, shops, cafés and the Lima riverside. 30 min: Braga, with cathedral and historic centre. 1 hour: Porto airport; 50 minutes: Vigo airport. In the area: Arcos de Valdevez, Ponte do Lima, Soajo (with its UNESCO-listed granite granaries), Castro Laboreiro, and the Romanesque monasteries of Bravães and São João de Longos Vales.
