Casa das Palmas is a traditional Portuguese house that has been renovated to make it into a welcoming and modern home where guests can relax and enjoy their holiday. Guests have free use of Wi-Fi in the rooms and close surrounds, as well as TV in the rooms. Each bedroom is spacious and airy and has its own en-suite bathroom. French windows from each room lead out to the terrace which overlooks the garden. Guests can enjoy coffee and tea making facilities as well sample the complimentary locally produced cherry liqueur known as ginja. A full continental breakfast (cooked on request)is available every day. On sunny days breakfast can be taken outside on the covered terrace. Our home situated in the quiet village of Obidos, offers a fantastic place to stay and explore all the surroundings, a car is most convenient for you to then travel to Nazare, Alcoboca and many other places on your day trips and come home and relax in our quiet garden.

Obidos is an 11th century walled castle town rich in history and tradition. It's well worth a walk along its ancient cobbles to soak up the wonderful atmosphere. The annual medieval festival, held on certain days over a two week period in July and August, is renowned throughout Portugal for recreating the customs and spirit of medieval times with everyone dressing in authentic period costume. Obidos also hosts an international literary festival in October, an international piano and masterclass festival in July/August and for chocoholics a chocolate festival is held in the last week of April through to the first week of May. Just 15 minutes by car lies Foz do Alrelho, which has a fantastic beach where swimmers and kite surfers make use of the sheltered lagoon flanked by many bars and restaurants. Caldas da Rainha is a nearby working town famous for its therapeutic thermal spa and its skilled exponents of traditional ceramics. Within an hour's drive of our home guests can visit Nazare where the world record surfing championships are held every year. Our home is an extremely well-placed situation to visit all the surrounding areas, but a car is recommended. History lovers can visit the nearby towns of Tomar, Alcobaca, Batalha and the world famous religious shrine of Fatima.
