Born in Seixal and I grew up in the village as 1 of 14 kids from one of the founding families of Seixal. Seixal has always been my home and when you stay at Casa Das Videiras we want you to live like a local and enjoy all the local gems the island has to offer.

Welcome to Seixal and Casa das Videiras. Here are some information about the house and the village that you might find helpful. Natalia is the lady cleaning the house. She will come every day in the morning, and she will help you with cleaning, towels and linen etc. You can confirm the time for your breakfast with Natália, and she can prepare it for you. The breakfast is included in the price. As you can see the house has 4 bedrooms with shower baths, lounges and a kitchen. There is a satellite/cable TV . You have free WiFi in the house. The kitchen is fully equipped, and you are welcome to use the facilities. The house is originally from 1779, and I bought it as a ruin in 1993. It was restored and redecorated to be this marvelous home that you find today, full of art, books and museum items. Check the specially made and handpainted tile panels on the front, the chapel with old chinese plates in the ceiling and the fantastic library.

Neighborhood info

Seixal is a small village on the north coast. However, in area the parish is the biggest in Madeira. It is an agricultural village, most of the cultivation is done in Chão da Ribeira. If you take the road up in the valley above Seixal, you will reach this farming landscape surrounded with the “Laurisilva” forest. This forest is a Unesco heritage, being that it is formed before the ice ages. In the inner part of the valley you will find a trout farm, supplying fresh fish to the rest of the island.Seixal is one of the villages that has a natural sandy beach, two minutes from the Casa das Videiras. Below the beach, you have Clube Naval do Seixal with a nice sea water pool, water activities and in the weekends music, cultural and sometimes gastronomically activities. The walks are an enjoyment. Do not forget to take the paths and the small streets around Seixal village. The pretty houses are interesting, the friendly people will appreciate a “good morning” or a “good afternoon”.
