Casa do Penedo is a century-old property built on the mountainside. It is located in Terras de Bouro, 80km from Porto and 35km from Braga. It is a rural property on the bank in the Peneda Gerês National Park, in the Northern Region of Portugal, land of pay, silence, light and nature. The house recovers the wisdom of local traditions in the simplicity of the stone, in the comfort of the nooks and in the careful relation with the landscape. Cada do Penedo offers a complete lodging, composed by 1 double room and 1 quadruple room, for groups and families on short stays. It has a maximum capacity for 6 people (adults and / or children) and offers 1 double bedroom and 1 quadruple room, 1 equipped WC and 1 living room with 1 kitchen equipped (kitchenette type) and dining area. The spaces are comfortable and bright, with nature coming through the window. There is no dining service, and the kitchen is available to guests.

Welcome! We are the family that owns Casa do Penedo. The construction that gives origin to the Casa do Penedo remote to the nineteenth century. At that time a small group of monks chose the place of Casa do Penedo to stop, reflect and pray; away from the urban and industrial centers. Meanwhile the "little house" became a shelter for the cattle, which grazed those hillsides. In the late 1980s, father Amaro and mother Zulmira, in one of the frequent walks through the Serra do Gerês, fell in love with the romanticism of a small, crooked house, perfectly synchronized with everything around it, the nature. And there begins the dream of a family from Espinho, accustomed to the sea, but in need of the silence of the mountain and the strength of the river. For us, it's time to share our vacation home, not only with friends and family, but with everyone who loves the Serra do Gerês, the wisdom of local traditions and the simplicity of the stone. We want our holiday home to be yours, too!
