Unique is the view over the Atlantic ocean and the fact you have total privacy, away from tourism and yet close to various smaller cities but also a supermarket which is less than 5 minutes by car. At your arrival there will be a bottle of wine some salty snacks and fruit from the island. I can also provide you with a list of restaurants closeby, meaning from 500 mters to 15 kilomters. Whether portugese food or pizza or sushi.
i am a dutch man merried to a lovely portugese woman and we both love the contact with people from all over the world. We both love animals and have 4 dogs in our own house. We both have lived for over 25 years in beautiful Switzerland and are now enjoying Madeira. Me since almost 9 years. My wife is from this beautiful island. Our property in águadepena,, *gem as we call it*, offers a spectecular view over the atlantic with a big patio and tables and chairs outside to enjoy the great romantic evenings.
The house on the east si of the island situated is at a dead end street hence rather quiet. It is yet close to both the cities of Machico and Santa Cruz, each 5 to 10 minutes by car. The capital of Funchal is 20 minutes by car. There are various good restaurants within 10 to 15 minutes from the house, whether traditional portugese kitchen or e.g. pizza or sushi. Its all very closeby. The big supermarket called Continente is by car 5 minutes away. We do recommend to rent a car. It enables you to discover this beautifull island and gives you optimal flexibility.
