"Casas do Rio" is a small hotel with a big heart. We only have 6 rooms each carefully furnished to strike a balance between antique elegance and modern comfort. Come admire our centuries old but meticusly renovated home. Relax by the pool or the jacuzzi while gazing at ancient olive trees and listening to the birds. We are convenient located halfway between Barcelos and Ponte de Lima for the Pelgrims doing "El caminho Portuges" For tourist wanting to explore northern Portugal, we are in the middle of it all. Half an hour away from Braga or Viana do Castelo, 15 minutes from Ponte de Lima and Barcelos, only one hour from Porto and Portugal's only national park "Peneda Geres" and surrounded by charming and historical towns such as Arcos de valdevez, Ponte da Barca and 20 minutes from the beach. If you choose us as your base, you can explore historic towns, a national park, the beach and even Porto.

Neighborhood info

We are half way between Barcelos and Ponte de Lima in a tiny town called Cossourado. A lot of people stay with us because we are a convenient stop for pelgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela and other people stay with us because we are an extremely convenient base to explore northern Portugal.
