Relax in the countryside of Moncarapacho. At the foot of the mountain and only three minutes outside the village. About this 2 person holiday home ‘Casa Bougainvillea’: Through the terrace you enter the living room/ open kitchen of the apartment. You have a full kitchen with a variety of equipment and utensils available to you. Through the kitchen you have a door leading you into the bedroom (It is possible to move the beds apart, please let is know if that is something you want before the check-in). Through this same door you have a door on your left leading into the bathroom with walk in shower. The building has pointed ceilings which gives the apartments a spacious feeling. There is a dining table, a two-seater sofa and comfortable beds (two beds of 90x200cm with possibility to stay together or apart). For both cooling and heating, this apartment has an air conditioner with heat/cold exchanger in both the bedroom and in the living room. Communal garden: Besides your private terraces you can also enjoy the communal garden. Throughout the garden we have planted fruit tree, that you can pick the fruits from to enjoy (if in season). We have an open vegetable garden with herbs and vegetable you can pick and use. To cool down we have a plunge pool and an outside shower available. With seating/ lounge areas around you can also enjoy the sun. Tip: if you like star gazing I would definitely recommend sitting outside in the evening. Since we are located on the rural side there are no city lights to block out the stars. For the surroundings check the neighbourhood section further below. We are Eugène, Debby and June. For a few years, we wanted to leave our 'fast' lives in the Netherlands behind us and change course to look for a better quality of life in... that became Portugal! When we first set foot on Portuguese grounds we knew for sure, this is where we wanted to live and make our dream come true. Here in Moncarapacho, we found the ideal place to realise our small-scale holiday resort. We are located about 2.3km outside of Moncarapacho in the calm country side, at the foot of the mountain Cerro de São Miguel. The nearest beach is in Fuseta, a fishers village (8km), here you also have some nice restaurants to enjoy. At about a 15 minute drive you have Olhão a fishers city, there are boat connections to the islands off the coast. 20 minutes the other way you have Tavira, this city is know as the Venice of the Algarve because of the Gilão river. Ria Formosa nature reserve is located at the coast of the Algarve, you can see this when you land on Faro. With salt production, lagoons and many birds it is a nice location to go on a walk or go cycling. If you like to explore around you have the Spanish border at 40 minute drive and Sevilla at an hour and a half (This is the closest "big" city, with Lisbon being at 3 hours)
