Situated in the historical village of Alcanede, next to the Natural Park of Mountain range of Aire and Candeeiros, MEIO is the ideal place to stay and enjoy nature with your group or family. The house offers seven double rooms with private bathroom, kitchen, dining room, a living room with fireplace, a training and meeting room, an old wine mill converted into a living room, reading corners, outdoor spaces , an elevator, a terrace, a great barbecue and green spaces designed for leisure. The property that is crossed by a small river, whose bridge gives access to four hectares of land with an old orchard and a hill, is ideal for hiking, picnics or biking. The house is designed to receive people with reduce mobility. Free access to guests to the area of accommodation and common spaces, gardens, terrace and orchard. If you want privacy we can just hand you the key. But we also provide local living and learning experiences. We can show the best of the culture of our region, the flavours and traditions of the centre of Portugal. Alone or with us discover what's around!
My wife Graça and I love to travel, in Portugal and abroad! I do my own travel itinerary and I always have a lot of curiosity about cultural aspects, and finding genuine people and traditions. I believe that those experiences enrich us. We love to share our home with our guests and make it their own, and relax in Alcanede, a small village, and enjoy the space by themselves or with their friends and family, since it is a big family house.
A castle, a football field, a Roman Bridge and a padel court; a Natural Park whit caves with the possibility of descending more than 50 meters deep and factories of hundreds of tea varieties; dinosaur footprints, blue quarries and natural river pools.Alcanede is in the centre of Portugal, a country with an increasing capacity to surprise the world. Up to 50 kms, come and discover the sea that gave birth to the most famous wave in the world, in Nazaré; feel the call of the paths of faith, visiting the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, the Holy Miracle in Santarém, or crossing one of the oldest tracks of the routes of Santiago de Compostela; become part of the history by visiting the Batalha Monastery and the Chocolate Village, Óbidos. Imagine that you restore your energy with some of Santarém conventual sweets; think of ending a day in the best tavern of the region; antecipate a tour of snacks and help yourself with cheese, sausages and homemade bread that you can also learn to make; add a tablespoon of organic honey from the heath and make a tea with the plants that grew in the land of herbalists. In MEIO nature’s flavours are also lived as a whole!
