This 17th-century mansion offers contemporary-style rooms with modern comforts in Provesende, a 15-minute drive from Pinhão Train Station. Morgadio da Calçada is 6.8 mi from Douro River. Morgadio da Calçada has eight custom rooms for visitors who want to know one of the oldest wine producer estates in Douro with Morgadio da Calçada trademark with the quality of the winemaker Dirk Niepoort. For this wine tourism project, we have been exploited and renovated the old farm buildings, having been made a contemporary intervention that ensures all the comforts. For our visitors there is reserved a room (the old staff kitchen of the solar) with every comfort, but also the use of other spaces of the solar where meals can be served, wines can be tasted... The Wine tourism facilities are surrounded by 4.5 ha of vineyards where the wines are produced with Morgadio da Calçada brand, with labels designed by the architects Siza Vieira and Michel Toussaint, having Dirk van der Niepoort as winemaker.

Provesende is one of the most important villages at Douro. This is a historical village, where there is five public chapels and there was 13 manor houses. One of the five winemaker villages, Provesende streets counts its history since the 16th century.
