Staying at Nova Alofa is staying in the Portuguese countryside surrounded by mountains. The river on the edge of our terrain creates a cool place to sit and the sound of the flowing water is very relaxing. If your looking for action just put on your walking shoes and step outside into nature or go swimming or surfing in one of the beautiful bays on the west coast. You have your own cottage with a private entrance and a private terrace on two sides. Inside you have a living room with kitchenette, a bedroom with walk in closet, a corridor with a small library and a bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. In addition. You can use of the communal garden, the pool, the patio, the outdoor kitchen with shared terrace and the hammocks. Parking facilities are on our own grounds under a carport so your car stays cool. A filled fridge on arrival, dinner served the first evening or two separate beds, just contact us at least two days in advance and we will take care of it.
We are Mario and Loes. We live at Nova Alofa with our cat Tijger (Dutch for Tiger)-. The name Nova Alofa is derived from Nuku’ Alofa, the capital of Tonga, an island in the South Pacific. Since we saw this farm for the first time in 2015, this is our nova alofa (new love). Nova Alofa is a small holiday resort with a 2 person house and our own house. Together we make use of the swimming pool, the deck by the river, the outside kitchen with barbecue and wood oven, the garden and the infinite starry sky. Looking for the most beautiful beach, or a nice walk? We are happy to help you on your way. Loes speaks Dutch and English and a bit of everything. Mario speaks besides Dutch, English, French and Spanish, also fluent Portuguese and is happy to translate for you should the need arise. You will receive info about the Wi-Fi network and the password on arrival. Wifi is free and we have enough Mb´s to internet but Netflixing, gaming, YouTubiing, streaming etc. is not allowed.
Do you enjoy the quiet Portuguese life? Then Nova Alofa is the place for you. Just stay 'at  home' and enjoy a good book in a beach chair by the river. Or step outside and enjoy the mountains and nature. Visit the most beautiful Portuguese beaches of the west coast. Go to the highest point of the south of Portugal, the Fóia, and enjoy the panoramic views. Visite the small city of Monchique, the spa town of Caldas de Monchique or Silves, Sagres, Lagos and Ferragudo.
