We are Ricardo and Laura, a Portuguese couple. Ricardo is in his fifties and was born and grew up in Lisbon. He studied History and then served in the Portuguese Navy for ten years. Afterwards he moved to Algarve and met Laura. She is about then years younger, born in Faro, just a couple hundred of meters from the property. Laura was the manager of her family business for a long time. A couple of years ago she decided to shutdown the shop and ventured into a full time job in our hospitality business. We both share a passion for traveling and hospitality and love to spend some time welcoming our guests and introducing them to the town, the sightseeing spots, the restaurants and whatever they need to know.

Property info

This is an early 19th century house, built for an upper middle class family of traders. From the 50's of the 20th century it hosted a small pension but after a few decades the people running it got retired and the property was left abandoned. For about thirty years the rain and the lack of maintenance caused considerable damage. Eventually part of the roof collapsed. And such was the situation in 2016, when the restoration started. Nowadays we offer four bedrooms in a fully renovated charming house.

Neighborhood info

Our old charming house is located at the edge of the historical center of Faro. As this is a compact town, pretty much everything is located at a walking distance. We have a supermarket by the end of our street, not no mention a pharmacy and plenty of restaurants and cafes. The marina - the living center of Faro - is around the corner and both bus and train stations are about 5-10 minutes walking from us. You can also easily walk to the citadel and to the ferry pier from here.
