Pension Bicuar is a one-minute walk from Olhão’s waterfront and offers a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the Algarvian mountains, the Atlantic and the Ria Formosa Natural Park. Bicuar’s charming rooms feature free Wi-Fi, a sink and shower. Toilets are shared for most of the rooms. Guests can make free use of the common kitchen, which includes a fridge, microwave, stove and teakettle. Guests can visit the well known picturesque fish and fruit markets and admire the unique Moorish cubic arch. The fishing village’s cobblestone streets also offer lots of traditional seafood restaurants and eateries. Guests can hop on a ferry and visit the islands just off the coast with their white beaches and clear waters. Faro Airport is 7.5 miles from the guesthouse.

Property info

As central as it gets, 120 meters from the waterline we offer beautiful Portuguese style accommodations. Narrow cobble streets, coffee houses and the true sprit of the Algarve. Our rooms are beautiful and comfortable. We keep our Pensão meticulously clean and we are always there to help. From our rooftop (we are one of the highest structures in the old town of Olhao), you will have a panoramic view of the Ria Formosa, the old town and the mountains to our north. Hang out to enjoy fabulous sunrises and sunsets.

Neighborhood info

Olhão is surrounded by ‘ilhas’, white sand island beaches, which protect the marshy lagoon, Reserva Natural da Ria Formosa, an environmental and conservation area for birds and marine life. The two main Olhão beaches are Ilha da Culatra ('Island of Culatra') and Ilha da Armona ('Island of Armona') The Islands are served all year round with regular ferry crossings from Olhão’s jetty a short 5 minute walk from Pension Bicuar Residencial. Ilha da Culatra is the bigger of the two islands. The western end of Ilha da Culatra ,with the lighthouse, is known as Ilha do Farol. The next ilha just to the west of Farol is Ilha Deserta, a beautiful island with nothing more than a stretch of beautiful soft sand backed by vegetation and a single restaurant.
