For over 300 years, the Abreu Teixeira family has lovingly preserved Quinta da Bouça d’Arques — a 7-hectare private estate where heritage, nature and refined comfort come together. Surrounded by a botanical garden, forest trails to the north and vineyards to the south, the property offers a rare sense of space and tranquillity. Each house combines traditional architecture with carefully curated décor inspired by the family’s travels, creating interiors that feel both authentic and welcoming. Guests enjoy complete privacy, generous indoor and outdoor spaces, and open views over nature. The saltwater pool invites you to unwind under the sun, while quiet forest walks and relaxing massage treatments offer moments of deep restoration. More than a stay, Quinta da Bouça d’Arques offers time — to slow down, reconnect and experience the peaceful rhythm of northern Portugal.

Our family project was born in May 1997, with the renovation of an old estate that has been in our family for over 300 years. Since then, we have sought to blend contemporary architecture with traditional features, preserving the authenticity and spirit of the place. With over four decades of experience in the financial sector, João is now devoted to hospitality, while Ana, a specialist in art conservation and restoration, brings her personal touch to the décor and preservation of the family heritage. Their shared passion for architecture, interior design, and botany is reflected in every detail — creating a perfect balance between nature, tradition, and comfort.

Quinta da Bouça d’Arques enjoys a privileged location in the heart of northern Portugal, surrounded by history, culture and natural beauty. Within easy driving distance, guests can explore the medieval charm of Ponte de Lima, the vibrant heritage of Braga and the historic streets of Guimarães, the birthplace of Portugal.
