At Quinta das Vinhas we are committed to giving our guests a memorable experience. Our dedicated team works with smiles, ensuring our guests are well cared for. Quinta das Vinhas was born from our wish to preserve family heritage, and to let others experience staying in a Madeira farmhouse. So in 1997 we completed the restoration of the Main House, and received our first guests. The cottages were then built to provide larger rooms for guests who stay for longer visits.  Quinta das Vinhas has a strong commitment to preserving the island's heritage whilst upholding a strong environmental policy. In 2018 the property was fully refurbished and another cottage was restored. The conversion to an organic vineyard was also started at the beginning of 2018.

Property info

In former times Quinta das Vinhas was the only house on the hillside in Estreito da Calheta, called Lombo dos Serroes. Already in those days vines were cultivated in addition to sugar cane, vegetables and fruits. Since the beginning of 2018 the Vineyard been run by Quinta das Vinhas and is converting to organically cultivated grapes for wine making. We have a unique collection of 75 different grape varieties, as for many years this was an experimental vineyard. Guests are welcome to find out more about our vineyard, and take part in daily activities or the harvest if they feel like it.
