Quinta de Raj was founded by Paul and Valeria with the intention of creating a paradise (“Raj”). Their eye fell on the beauty of the Douro Valley with the bridges of Peso da Regua as a view. The Quinta was set up to serve as a base for future retreats on self-awareness and connecting with your own self.
Paul has a background as a Zen teacher, while Valeria, on the other hand, specializes more in Numerology, Karma Yoga and meditation. This combination often offers a multi-faceted insight into what drives you as an individual and how your (life) decisions come about. The Quinta is designed in such a way that you can retreat in different places (physical and spiritual) to reconnect with yourself.
Property info
All rooms are spacious (2-persons) and have the same impressive view over the Douro Valley. Every is room is different and based on the four elements; Water, Earth, Fire and Air. This is reflected in the interior. All rooms come with daily laundry service and cleaning, free Wi-Fi and i-Pad. Free usage of kitchen, wellness- and garden areas are included. The facilities are to support our philosophy of tranquility and well-being.
The pool area offers luxury cabanas, a pool, a sauna and a hot tub. The gardens are open for our guests. There are plenty of nice hideaways to sit down, relax and enjoy the moment. For more leisure, we also offer wine-tastings, hiking- and biking trips. Other services are available on request via your hostess.

Peso da Regua is the center of the Douro wine and Port region. Well known for its high-quality wines and beautiful landscapes. The region offers many activities and trips to organize, which makes Peso da Regua the perfect spot for a long-term stay. The city itself is lively and vibrant and offers all categories of restaurants and bars. From Regua you can organize day trips to surrounding places like Lamego and Pinhao or Vila Real by boat or steam train. For the more sporty guests, there are many hiking- and biking trails available to wander or ride through the surrounding mountains.
