Hi We are Steve and Liesa. Steve is originally from UK, Liesa is originally from South Africa. We met in Ireland, where we were both working at the time. In 2020 we moved - along with our little Cairn Terrier, Macey - to the Silver Coast and have spent the last 4 years, working with our local tradespeople to renovate the house, gardens and apple barn into our own little oasis We enjoy travelling and sharing our experiences with the people we meet.

Based in the tranquil rural farming community of Salgueiro, surrounded by fruit and wine orchards. There is so much to see and do in the local area. Historical Obidos, with its fully walled medieval castle and town, Buddha Eden, the amazing statue garden which must be seen to be believed, and the bustling market town of Caldas da Rainha are all on the doorstep along with numerous hikes and numerous way-marked local trails. Within a 30 km/20 mile radius you can explore exquisite beaches, ancient antiquities, dinosaur remains, golf courses, vineyards and wineries, surfing - including the surfing meccas of Nazare and Peniche - plus various religious and cultural sites. Widen your net to 60 km/40 miles and you will discover UNESCO Heritage sites, even more stunning beaches, caves, excavated Roman ruins, legendary Fatima, Tomar, Sintra, Batalha, Mafra, Alcobaca and of course the capital city of Lisbon to name just a few. For bird and nature lovers, you can see first-hand birds of prey, flamingoes, parrots and numerous other species in their natural habitats.
