THE ENVIRONMENT: Parque das Nações - located in the eastern part of Lisbon with contemporary architecture (the result of an urban and environmental redevelopment project), has various leisure, sports and cultural facilities, inviting residents and visitors to practise sporting, recreational and/or cultural activities all year round. There is also a cable car which offers a fantastic ride with panoramic views over the river and the city, as well as numerous restaurants, shops, cafés, bars and all the essential shops and services for everyday life. Some Expo facilities: Science and Technology Museum, Portugal Pavilion, Knowledge Pavilion, Altice Arena, Vasco da Gama Tower, Lisbon Oceanarium, Casino, Gare do Oriente, Vasco da Gama Shopping Centre, CUF Hospital, etc.... Due to its location by the river, Parque das Nações has an extensive riverside area full of green spaces inviting you to go for walks, cycle rides, canoeing lessons, sailing, etc. with the breathtaking beauty of the River Tagus as a backdrop.
