Tapada do Sobral sits at the foot of Monte Farinha, home to the iconic Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Graça, one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in northern Portugal. You can reach the summit either by car — a scenic 10 km drive — or on foot, following the traditional pilgrims’ path, which still preserves sections of historic granite paving. Reaching the top is one of the area’s most popular experiences. Just a short walk from the property, you’ll find the PR2 Levada de Piscaredo, one of the most beautiful marked hiking trails in the region. This moderate-difficulty trail follows an old water channel still in use today. Shaded and running alongside the levada, it’s perfect for family walks, even on warm summer days. Only 2 km away, the Ponte dos Cavacos Picnic Park sits on the banks of the Cabril River, offering a peaceful riverside spot ideal for swimming and cooling off in nature.
