Combining dedicated professionalism with a familiar and informal approach, the Aveiro Arts crew is comprised of hospitality and heritage professionals, resident artists and cheerful volunteers. You can reach us at the office, located on the ground floor of the building, during the afternoon, or online at any other time of the day. There’s usually someone around the building throughout the day to help you out and to ensure that you make the most out of your stay.

You’ll love the Aveiro Arts House, an historic residence with a notable tradition in Arts and Culture. Located in the very heart of Aveiro, our unique family house combines modern amenities and vintage charm. Designed in the late 50s and former home of the beloved ceramist, writer, painter and filmmaker Vasco Branco, the charismatic building faces a small garden, which lies between our house and the Museum of Aveiro. You get all the comfort of staying in the centre of town, while enjoying the serenity of a peaceful street. Our Guesthouse hosts four sunny, spacious and pleasant bedrooms, each one dedicated to one of the art forms cultivated by Vasco Branco. Besides your own private bedroom, you have access to two complete bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable living room and a lovely sunroom — perfect for sunny breakfasts and for enjoying a glass of good wine in the evening. The Aveiro Arts House is filled with unique stories that bring out the artistic and cultural contexts of Aveiro and Portugal in the 20th Century. Besides the Guesthouse, it also features an Arts Residency, a Gallery-Shop, a Library and a Secret Cinema, across its five floors, which you can visit on demand. If you are lucky to coincide, you are very welcome to attend one of the exclusive events that we occasionally host, such as movie screenings, small concerts, poetry readings or wine tastings.

Everything worth visiting is at walking distance: Aveiro’s famous canals, the Municipal Theatre, the University, the salt mines, the several museums and Vasco Branco’s public works The train / bus station are 15 minutes away by foot, and Aveiro’s stunning beaches are just ten minutes away by car.
