Vistalinda Cabins is a Studio Apartment in which the interiors have been completely remodelled and offer a a high level of comfort and all mordern conveniences. The Studio is set amongst extensive gardens overlooking the village of Faja dos Vimes. The grounds of the property include a coffee plantation, banana plantation, vineyard, fruit trees (including mango, avocado, citrus, pomegranate and custard apple), and ornamental gardens. The property has a breathtaking 180-degree view of the village, the Atlantic ocean and Pico Island with its volcano dominating the skyline. To the north of the property are the dramatic forest covered mountains of Serra do Topo. To the east of the property is terraced marshland unique to the area where ‘inhames’ (taro) were traditionally harvested by locals. To the west of the property is a small river with waterfall which flows year-round. A traditional cobblestone ox-cart track (now pedestrian only) passes through the property and to the village and coast below. The village of Faja dos Vimes has a small jetty with entry for swimming (unsupervised), a polished rock beach, and two cafes serving drinks and snacks. Both cafes have an artisanal shop where loom-woven items such as rugs, bedspreads etc are produced. The property is located at the intersection of three linear walking trails: Faja dos Vimes-Fragueira-Portal; Faja dos Vimes-Serra do Topo-Faja Caldeira do Santo Cristo-Faja dos Cubres; Faja dos Vimes-Lourais-Faja Sao Joao. This combination of traditional architecture, breathtaking views, tranquil location, lush gardens and rugged surroundings make Vistalinda Farmhouse a truly unique and memorable experience. I’m Dan, born in Australia but have called Europe home for the last 20 years - first in Ireland, then Germany, and since 2020 Azores, Portugal, on this beautiful rock in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean called São Jorge! I have travelled extensively through Australia, Europe, North America, South America, the Middle East and Far East, but for me the Azores is the place I love the most.
