Zef's Cottage was built in 2016 on a family owned land. The cottage is covered with local stone called basalto and the inside with local wood called mahogany also produced in the village. The Cottage is cosy and inviting which aims to provide a calm and peaceful stay to our guests. The mountains works as a shelter by the laurissilva which is a type of subtropical forest found in areas with high humidity and relatively stable, mild temperatures. The forest is characterized by broadleaf tree species with evergreen, glossy and elongated leaves, known as "laurophyll" or "lauroid". Plants from the laurel family may or may not be present, depending on the location.
Zeferina is a friendly and dynamic person who enjoys working with people from different parts of the world. Zeferina works with children and families in her community. She loves Madeira in particular Sao Vicente and shares her time between London and Madeira. Zeferina is married with two adult children. She enjoys travelling, gardening, reading and socialising.
The neighbourhood is calm and tranquil. The people are friendly and homily. Most people work in their " peace's" of land in agriculture. The main agriculture product is grapes which is predominant in the north side of the island unlike the south which is bananas. Being such a small village people watch for each others. There hardly any reported crime and not much happens around there apart from some religious or politics festivities (mostly in the summer months). People are helpful and respectful in a humbled manner.
