Kopaonik (also known as the Silver Mountain) is the largest mountain massif in Serbia that stretches from the northwest to the southeast with a length of about 82.7 km, reaching a width of about 40 km in the middle part. One part of it is a protected zone called Kopaonik National Park, within which there are a large number of protected natural entities, and the largest ski center in Serbia is also located there. Its highest peak is Pančićev vrh with 2017 m above sea level. on which is the mausoleum of the famous Serbian naturalist after whom it was named, around which is the base of the Serbian army. A whole series of cultural and historical monuments from the 12th to the 15th centuries are located in its wider area. Thanks to the developed tourist center with modern hotels and supporting facilities, Kopaonik is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Serbia. The appeal of Kopaonik lies in the exceptional dynamics of its relief. The spacious mountain pastures of dense evergreen and mixed forests, as well as the mountain peaks from which you can see the Shar mountain, Stara Planina and other surrounding mountains remain in the indelible memory of everyone who visited this mountain beauty. There are many thermal springs in the mountain region. Vrnjačka Banja, Mataruška Banja and Sijarinska Banja are very famous. At the foot of Jošanička Banja (thermal spring, 78 °C), Lukovska Banja (36-56 °C) and Kuršumlijska Banja (38-57 °C). In addition to the thermal springs on Kopaonik, there are mineral springs as well as a source of low-radioactive water (the most radioactive in Serbia) Krčmar at an altitude of 1950 m and Marine water at an altitude of 1700 m. The ski center consists of more than 64 km of trails connected by a system of cable cars and ski lifts, with a capacity of over 34,000 skiers per hour, with all types of trails, as well as night skiing.
