Welcome to the Thistle Inn- a bed and breakfast on a family farm with a Scottish Swedish twist. This is a unique and relaxing stay in a peaceful valley. As a guest here you have the chance to meet our friendly sheep, chickens and cat, hunt for berries in the woods, enjoy the local sauna and relax in our cozy folk music cafe in the evenings. We have three different options for overnight accommodation – the Tiny House, the Horsedrawn Wagon or the ‘Room at the Inn’ - check out which one suits you the best! While celebrating simplicity and rustic charm, our guests nonetheless have access to a hot shower, a shared kitchen with all modern conveniences, an eco-friendly, compost toilet and breakfast in our café. We provide a simple, organic breakfast buffet and tea and coffee. Wi-Fi is available in the café but not in the individual rooms. If you hope to keep your break as outdoors as possible, there is always the option to cook your food over an open fire where there are unspoilt views of forests and fields. We are a short cycle ride away from some stunning lakes, beaches and a traditional sauna. We have canoes which guests can use, and fushing permits can be bought at Björns Jakt nearby in Stenungsund. The west coast is a 10 minute car journey away, with its islands and restaurants.

We are Andy and Magda - a Scottish Swedish couple who have taken over Magda's families organic farm, where we live with our children, sheep, chickens and cat. We produce a organic fruit and vegetables for ourselves - and often our guests breakfasts. Andy is a Scottish folk musician and sometimes puts on folk music evenings at our farm cafe here. We have travelled a lot and love meeting people from different cultures and showing them our beautiful home.

We live in a peaceful valley with a quiet road suitable for cycling and walking. There are many local walking and cycling trails, both through the forests and beside the rolling fields. Additionally we are only a short distance to several lakes where one can wild swim. We are a 10 minute cycle to the lake Stora Hällungen (Västra Götalands largest lake) where you can find several child-friendly, sand beaches, grill places, diving boards and a wood fired sauna. We have canoes guests may use, fishing permits are available locally at Björns Jakt, and nearby is a Spekeröd Golf course and a padel-pickleball court. Ucklum five minutes from where we live has a pizzaria, small shop and petrol station. Alternatively you can cycle a little longer and, find many smaller forest lakes. Here you can experience a private swim, surrounded by nothing but forest and the fresh, peaceful atmosphere. For a change of scenery, we have the famous west coast sea, beaches and islands a mere 15 minute drive away. From here you can visit some of the idyllic fishing islands and sea kayak and enjoy great restaunts. We are a ten minute drive to Stenungsund where there is a direct train to Gothenburg (45 mins away), shops, playparks, pubs and a golf course.
