Bohinj is divided into the Upper and Lower Bohinj Valley. It is enclosed by the mountains which rise up to 2.000 meters on the south side, and by the Triglav mountain range with Mount Triglav, Slovenia 's highest mountain (2864 m). Due to the beauty of the landscape and its precious natural heritage, a good part of the Bohinj regions has been incorporated in the territory of the Triglav National Park, Slovenia's only national park.
