Sathorn is a main financial and residential district in Bangkok. Most international embassies and 5 star hotels are located here. Silom is 2 km away. The Sathorn pier or Saphan Taksin BTS station is 5 minutes walk where you can get a boat across the main Chao Praya river and visit the Grand Palace , Wat Pho temple , the reclining Buddha in 10 minutes. Public transportation is 24 hours. There is a free boat at Sathon Pier to the Asiatique night market daily. Bangrak Fresh market is 5 minutes walk. There are many renowned street food on Charoen Krung Road 3 minutes walk such as Porridge rice, Prachak duck and noodle, Congee and various noodle shops.
