Located overlooking beautiful Castara Bay, Castara Retreats is a family-run eco resort offering self-catering accommodations set in 2 acres of tropical gardens. Each accommodations has ocean views and is just a three minute walk from the beach. The well-appointed apartments include air conditioned bedrooms with attached bathroom, kitchen, fans, private terrace, comfortable seating, dining area, and free Wi-Fi throughout. Steve Felgate discovered Castara 25 years ago and fell in love with its raw beauty, lovely people, and tropical climate. He had a vision for creating somewhere that embraced life’s simple luxuries and celebrated the gorgeous natural surroundings. That vision lives on today through a dedicated local team known for their warmth, openness of spirit, and heartfelt welcome — led by our General Manager, Maisha, who brings fresh energy and a deep love for Castara to the role. But if it’s a more subtle sort of luxury that you seek, our tropical hideaways capture the simple, exotic essence of Tobago and exude warmth, creativity and style. Blending into the lush surrounding landscape, each lodge has a serene and natural feel, and you’ll find all you need to unwind and recharge. Castara’s gorgeous sandy beach is just a short walk away. Here, you’ll find safe swimming in the azure Caribbean, sun loungers under the natural shade of palms, and local bars perfect for enjoying a chilled beer at sunset. You’ll see the fishing boats bobbing into the bay loaded with the daily catch, and the Seine fishermen who pull in great nets onto the beach. Strolling down to the village, you’ll find a friendly, local vibe that is welcoming to visitors and invites you to experience the relaxed rhythms of Caribbean village life.Small restaurants are dotted around the village and serve tasty Caribbean cuisine.
