United StatesThe views was the most amazing views ever, the sunset was breaktaking. The host was so helpful and kind, she even drove me to the village and showed me around. She constantly checked in to make sure that I was okay and did not needed anything. As a female solo traveler, she would offer to pickup meals and did on a couple occasions. The room was well equipped with everything I needed. It was definitely a perfect stay and I would recommend it and will definitely stay here again.

AbkhaziaThe lobby area was well lit and quite clean. Staff members were very professional yet friendly. Any requests we had were promptly dealt with. On entering the room however it was a bit smaller than what we are accustomed with but it was exceptionally clean and quite cosy.The bathroom-face basin, toilet and shower were impeccably clean. There was an alarm clock which was convenient and ohh the bed, pillows and blanket were the best. I didn't miss my own one bit. Again quite cosy and comfortable.
The food was very good- breakfast, drinks and brunch. Everything was tasty. We ate lunch and dinner elsewhere as we wanted to experience what the island had to offer.
Comfort inn and suites were definately a 10/10 for me. I would definitely return.

Castara is a beautiful seaside village located on the northern coast of Tobago. What the village may lack in modern conveniences, it more than makes up for with the warmth and kindness of the people who call it home. On any given day, you may be greeted by a villager offering a bag of freshly caught fish, a breadfruit or some other provision, fruit, or at the very least, a friendly hello.
The village is welcoming and has a comforting, homely feel. The Thursday night bonfires are a wonderful opportunity to meet and interact with locals, while the beaches during the day are stunning and perfect for swimming. You would also more than likely spot a stingray or 5 roaming for their day's meal.
Little Bay is a slice of heaven, where you can relax with the fisherfolk as they clean their day's catch (which they may also cook and offer to you), swim or lay on the beach, and then refresh yourself with a drink or snack from the small shop located conveniently nearby.
Everything is basically within walking distance, so if you're going to stay, your biggest concern is getting from the airport to your accommodation (which is a pretty easy fix). It's always a yes from me :)

We like walking and no crowds so was good for us.
We like walking and no crowds so was good for us. There are very steep hills and steps so not easy if you have mobility issues. Wildlife and birds were fantastic. People were very friendly. Felt safe while staying here. A few different eating and drinking places. We ate out but also cooked in our apartment some evenings. Small shops open at odd times but small supermarket is usually open. We tried to support the other shops and local traders as much as possible.

Castara is a beautiful village which has not(yet) been spoiled by mass tourism. The locals are friendly and obliging. The beaches unspoilt. There are are several good eating places. Shopping facilities are not so good for self-caterers, but there are are several good eating places which are not very expensive. No need to cook!

As a female solo traveler, I visited Castara with a skeptical mindset to be honest, and Castara ( Trinidad and Tobago in general) just blew my mind away. Such a wonderful, amazing place and such a great nation full of super-friendly, warm, kind people. I absolutely loved the beaches, specially the Castara Bay beach where I spent about 10 days. The beach was breathtakingly beautiful. The view was picturesque. The green mountains surrounding the landscape were enchanting, and I just ended up relaxing for hours in the magnificent turquoise water. I simply did not want to come out!! Not crowded at all. Felt like I was chilling at a private beach. The ocean was very calm, peaceful, and more of a pool, so it was ideal for a person like me, who is not good at swimming. Felt an extremely safe vibe while roaming around the village. Castara ( Tobago in general) should be in a traveler's bucket list!!

This is a very small town with a very local feel.
This is a very small town with a very local feel. Not too many tourists, and the restaurants and stores do not feel 'made for tourists'. They are just sort of 'there' and no one will make too big of a fuss over you as a tourist, so if you are used to pampering, this may not be the place :-) My favorite was driving (10 minutes) to Englishman's Bay, a gorgeous beach with a wild feel, very basic amenities, frequently quite strong surf, so be very cautious of undercurrents. But a truly beautiful stretch of sand with palm trees and coves and plenty of shade.

We spent a week at Castara Retreats and a further week at Seascape on Little Beach. Both provided us fantastic experiences. Castara village is a great rustic working village - the scenery, the beaches, and the people are all fabulous! The locals are very welcoming and friendly and there are plenty of long stay guests to point you in the right direction too. Wonderful meals were had at D'Almond Tree, Caribbean Kitchen and the Boathouse and great lunches at Duck's Seaside Grill. Plenty of local entertainment of an evening spread throughout the week to give you a feel for the local culture. An amazing boat trip down to No Man's Land and Nylon Pool with Daveon and Jeromie from Little Beach. The supermarket by main beach has everything you will need. You don't need a car, but taxis can be hired if you want to go further afield. You can try the local buses too - really cheap. Embrace the adventure and have fun!

We loved our stay at the beach shack. Taharka was a great host, he made a real effort to accommodate us, he showed us around & we really enjoyed chatting with him. The location of the shack is breathtaking, right on the beach front with amazing sunset views. Inside is great too, the bed is super comfy and the kitchen well equipped for cooking. One night we bought fish from the local market with Taharka and he cooked it with us on the BBQ and set up the bonfire. Would highly recommend staying in Castara and in the shack.

A lovely apartment with a beautiful balcony overlooking the jungle and sea. The accommodation was clean and well equipped. The location was excellent, a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and some nice hikes. Castara is an extremely friendly village. Everybody will chat with you if you say hello.

The host, amenities and location were excellent. I enjoyed that there was private access to the eastern side of Castara Beach (not sure if this is what's referred to as Little Bay Beach!). I loved that there was a balcony overlooking the same beach, with beautiful morning and sunset views.
