Katambuga House in Arusha, with its lush gardens and tranquil pool, serves as an oasis of tropical serenity. Olmara Camp, situated in the remote Ngare Nayuki River Valley, is a dream location for wildlife photography enthusiasts, featuring luxury tented suites blending seamlessly into acacia groves, grasslands, and rocky outcrops. Kisima Ngeda Camp, nestled among fever tree forests, provides a wilderness adventure with the option of an overnight fly camp on Lake Eyasi’s eastern shore for an unforgettable night under the stars. Esirai Camp moves alongside wildebeest herds during their epic 600km migration across the plains, offering an unparalleled African safari adventure. Lastly, Olkeri Camp, known for its vast elephant herds, offers expansive views of woodlands and rocky hills, shaded by ancient Baobab and Acacia trees, allowing guests the freedom to explore day and night.

Nestled in a thick stand of doum palm and fever tree forest under a rocky granite hill, Kisima Ngeda Camp Overlooks the seasonal lake Eyasi. The mess area features beautiful wooden floors and palm-thatch roofs. The Cozy Bar, lounge area, and the adjoining dining room offer an expansive view of the lake and the Alipi escarpment. Food is delicious and wholesome, freshly prepared and homemade, including bread and ice cream. The chefs hail from the surrounding community and undergo training a few times a year to update their skills and inspire new menus.

Lake Eyasi is a remote area of stark beauty in Tanzania’s Rift Valley tucked between the Ngorongoro highlands in the North, the Kidero Mountains in the East, and the Alipi Escarpment in the West. Surrounded by ridges and ancient baobabs, the area has been home to the Hadzabe people for millennia. They are among the last people practising a hunter-gatherer lifestyle – and explorers will have a rare insight and an encounter with their culture. Visitors can experience a respectful interaction while being escorted by Hadza guides to a lakeside camp with fly tents that allow for a 360° view of the African night sky and to weathered granite outcrops, many of which have eroded into other-worldly shapes. Climbing the ridges is a favourite pastime, as is exploring the Rock Art sites. Excellent birding year-round is found on the Kisima Ngeda Camp grounds, at Lake Eyasi and in the woodlands. The Palearctic migration between October and April brings thousands of birds to the region.
