When the Buffalo Nickel owners remodeled the property, they discovered old copies of the Indianapolis Star Newspaper used as insulation. The age of the newspapers prompted further research of the property, and they found that one of the earliest residents was a woman whose father settled in Brown County around the turn of the century. They discovered the woman's most prized possessions were two small nickels her father made upon first settling. The woman shared this story with her local paperboy, showing him the nickels to teach a lesson about hard work. Thus, the name Buffalo Nickel was adopted. Buffalo Nickel is located on the north end of Nashville, giving visitors a view of downtown from the 300-square-foot deck with an overhanging black locust tree. The cabin comes with a full kitchen, breakfast bar, dining area, and hot tub. In the living room, guests will find a double sleeper sofa. The bathroom comes with a custom shower and access to the deck where guests will find the hot tub. The private bedroom also comes with a queen bed. Additionally, guests can relax in front of the two 32" televisions. Buffalo Nickel accommodates 2–4 people. Rural Environment Notice Our cabins are located in the beautiful woods and countryside of Brown County, Indiana. While we provide routine professional pest control and keep our homes clean and well-maintained, guests may occasionally see seasonal pests such as mice, flies, lady beetles (Asian beetles), or stink bugs — especially in the fall and spring. These harmless insects are part of life in a rural setting. We do everything possible to minimize their presence and appreciate your understanding as part of the authentic Brown County experience!
