The home is a Victorian Cottage built in 1885. It was recently restored from top to bottom. It is centrally located within walking distance to Webster Street which has an array of restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops. The beach is also a 15 minute walk from the house. There are many beautiful places to see around Alameda. This home is NOT located in San Francisco so please do not leave bad review for location. It is in a wonderful island neighborhood outside of San Francisco. Also this is the lower level of a 2 story historical 1885 Victorian, so if footsteps coming from above bother you then please do not rent this home.
Hi, My name is Navin, originally from New Delhi, India but raised in the USA since the age of 5. I moved to San Francisco in 1999 and then to the beautiful and historical island of Alameda October 2017. I love to call Alameda my home. I cannot think of a better place to live. I love the tranquility, the historical homes, the beach, being surrounded by water, the nature, the bike/pedestrian paths, the views of San Francisco, the wineries and breweries, the historical Alameda Theatre, the restaurants and cafes, the Tiki Bar, the list goes on and on!
The neighborhood is tranquil and the house is located on a Sycamore Tree lined street with friendly neighbors, like a storybook. This is not in San Francisco so do not leave negative review for location as it is in a great neighborhood within walking distance to cafes, restaurants, and boutique stores and the beautiful Alameda beach at Crown Memorial Park. If you want to be in San Francisco, then please do not book this home and find something in San Francisco. For those of you who like a small town feel on a beautiful island and don't mind taking the 15 minute ferry boat to SF then I am happy to host you. If you plan on commuting with a car, then there may be traffic and take anywhere from 20 - 45 minutes for the 8 mile journey to SF depending on the time of day. This is the lower level of an 1885 Victorian home and some noises can be heard from the upper level such as foot steps. A fan drowns out sounds and creates white noise. If sensitive to some noise, then please do not book this home. Thank you for taking this into consideration before booking.
