Clean, comfortable, updated and fully furnished. Two queen beds and a sofa sleeper. All bedding and towels are provided. Just bring your food, drinks, and personal items. Start your day watching the amazing sunrises over Lake Michigan from your own deck facing the lake! End your day gathered around a bonfire in your own fire pit. Enjoy the peaceful beauty of the lake and wildlife at The Last Resort Kipling Cottages. The updated fishing cabins provide the comforts of home with some vintage charm. Fun for all ages. We have hosted many multi-generation family gatherings. (See our other listings if you need more than one cottage. We have three on the lake, next to each other. Fun in the sun with family and friends playing in the lake and end your day gathered around a bonfire. Our guests treasure memories made with their loved ones. Relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Centrally located In the UP on Lake Michigan (Little Bay de Noc) in Gladstone MI. Dock space for one boat (under 20 feet) and parking for 2 vehicles per cottage. There is a small boat launch one driveway away, large public launch 1 mile away. Great central UP location for day trips.
We are both from Gladstone and love the UP. Carl is a veteran. He is a contractor and does all of the maintenance and renovations at the cottages. Stacy takes care of the reservations, bookkeeping, cleaning the cottages. We have 3 children, 4 grandchildren. We bought the cottages in 2022. We have updated the cottages but kept some vintage charm. We are available if guests need us. Guests can call or text us anytime and they will actually be talking to us, not a call center or AI. We treat our guests like family and friends.
Kipling is a waterfront community in Gladstone Michigan. Our cottages are on Little Bay de Noc, at the top of Lake Michigan. A little side street with only neighbors for traffic. A neighborhood beach and boat launch are next door for our guests to use. We provide 5 kayaks, 2 paddle boats, 1 canoe for guests to use for free. A large variety of life vests and one fishing pole are in the shed for guests to use. Kipling has 2 bait shops and a public boat launch. Fishing is big in Kipling. Little Bay de Noc is well known for great fishing. Many fishing tournaments are hosted here. Gladstone Public Beach and City Park (VanCleve Park) are just a few minutes away. Grocery store, gas station, laundromat, restaurants, bars, coffee shop and a microbrewery are all in Gladatone. Great central UP location for day trips to Munising waterfalls, Pictured Rocks, Kitchitikipi, Fayette State Park, Stonington Lighthouse, Marquette, Iron Mountain, Manistique, Menominee. All are within an hour drive.
