When you visit, there is a chance you may meet three generations of our family...and all of us are involved with the property in one way or another. We are all adventurers who love to travel and explore new places! Manager/innkeeper, Emily, lives in Monmouth with her family, Mike, Olivia & Henry, and would gladly recommend great places to visit in the area. Emily's brother and assistant innkeeper, Eli, helps take care of the property and lives next door in his own apartment. Owners Bill and Sarah are often visiting new places around the world, including a recent trek up Mt. Kilimanjaro and frequent visits to Alaska.

MaMere's Guest House sits at the Historic Howell House, built in 1891. This historic property has lots of charm and if the walls could talk, they would certainly share some interesting stories. Built originally as a boarding house for women to attend Western Oregon University (just a block away), MaMere's is the perfect home base for your stay in the Willamette Valley. We are within a 20-40 minutes drive from Salem, Corvallis and McMinnville. And just a little over an hour to the Pacific Ocean. Watch a movie, play a game or read one of our many books in the study. Or enjoy a glass of wine in our beautiful courtyard while you enjoy the shade and flowers on the property! You can rest assured knowing we have gone through rigorous quality inspections. We are also bike friendly and have locked bike storage! We also have a small event space available for rent. Please note - all rooms are on the 2nd and red floors and require climbing stairs. All tubs/showers require stepping up and into our clawfoot tubs at MaMere's Guest House.

Neighborhood info

MaMere's Guest House is located in the heart of wine county, and our little town of Monmouth is a haven from which to explore the surrounding vineyards and visit Western Oregon University. The local shops/eateries are within easy walking distance, as Main Street is just a block away! Kids have a great time in the splash fountain and playground in Main Street park, just across the street. Our sister city, Independence, is just a few miles away and is a great place to take an evening stroll along the Willamette River.
