The setting is gorgeous. Foliage was just starting to turn. The minute you enter the Inn you feel relaxed. Scott met us and gave us a tour of the property and grounds. It was nice having a very well stocked bar and the breakfast was excellent.

Property info

Maple Hill Farm is a special property with a personal approach for each guest. With only eight guest rooms, we are able to accommodate special requests, each of our guest rooms in unique and we offer a range of amenities to choose from, and your breakfast is cooked to order from a menu each morning. We offer a unique combination of the tranquility of a country inn surrounded by quiet countryside PLUS all the comforts & amenities of a larger hotel. We are very proud of being Maine's first certified "Environmental Leader" in hospitality (starting in 2005) and our "green" practices include both solar & wind power, 100% LED lighting, four electric vehicle charging stations, and many other sustainable practices. We have a wonderful year-round outdoor hot tub and an adjoining sauna building. Some of the rooms feature HUGE private double whirlpool tubs, gas fireplaces, and/or private decks. We offer full bar service in our pub, and there are many other common areas including a Gallery of local artists, a Living Room with a wood-burning fireplace, a Dining Room also with a fireplace, and a common guest kitchen with 24-hour complimentary coffee/tea and home baked goodies. Great WiFi!

Neighborhood info

Maple Hill Farm is one of the few alternatives to the many chain hotels located in Augusta, Maine. While we are located just outside of Augusta in the very small city of Hallowell (pop. 2371), we are just four miles from the southernmost I-95 exit for Augusta, our state capital. We are out in the quiet countryside just three miles from the bustling historic district of Hallowell located on the banks of the Kennebec River. This downtown area features a wide variety of popular restaurants, bars, antique and boutique shopping, a community theater, and art galleries. Less than two miles upriver is the State House (our capitol building) in Augusta and four miles downriver is Gardiner. Augusta and Hallowell both feature historic walking/driving tours with informative outdoor signage known as "Museum in the Streets" and there are numerous places to go for walks/hikes including the Jamies Pond Wildlife area adjacent to Maple Hill Farm, Vaughan Woods in Hallowelll, and the Kennebec River Rail trail that runs 6.5 miles from Gardiner to Augusta along the side of the river. Our area is a great hub to explore much of Maine, with the coast, lakes, and mountains all within an hour's drive.
